Me and one my friend had a visit to Alayam an orphanage charitable trust. The Alayam is a small house with two rooms with cement sheet roofing, and it contains around 30 cute childrens. I dont get a chance to spoke with the founder of this Alayam, Since he was busy but he looks very simple man and every one called him as Sir...
Alayam's kids are maintained by a teacher Priyasagi who was in her age of mid 20's. The moment when we entered the door of Alayam Cute childs came rounding us some of them called me as anna and some called me as uncle. They voluntarly asked us our names, where we are from and introduced themselves with us. Some of the names of the childs and their dreams are Gomathy(Engineer), Veramani(police Man), Pravin(Engineer), Sharmi(Head Mistress), Velumani(very small child), Paritha(Scientist), Prabakaran(pilot) and many more, Due to my poor memory I cant remember all their names.
Then we all sit in one room then they started dancing for baba flim songs and some popular tamil songs by singing the song themselves. While we are talking with them their teacher came and asked to come out one by one. Due to curiosity Me too came along with those child to see whats happening out.
A group of people was their with their families and giving new clothes for each and every children. The moment they got their new dress they thanked the noble hearted person. By seeing the new dress it was a sudden happiness to them.. Every one showed their dress to us and asked how was it. Since most of the kids are in their third standard and fourth standard we helped them to wear the new dress. The Happiness which was there in that was the most ever forgettable happiness in my life time.
They took a group photo along with the family who sponsored the new dress.. Then another suprise they sponsored the lunch from Saravana Bavan. All the children sat in a shape of square in the first room and they passed themselves all the parcels and everything was served and they are ready to start lunch.
In that moment the Sir asked the children who's turn was that day.. He got some replies as Gomathy. Gomathy stood up and started singing the Prayer song. I lost my consiousness in her song. Words cant express the beginning of this luch. I was watching their happy Lunch of that day. Teacher told them to change their dress after finishing their Lunch. They put their new dress in their covers themselves and placed orderly in the chair.
Then their teacher, me and my friend started our lunch. While having lunch we had a chat about the Alayam..
The name of the teacher priyasagi was a Graduate previously, she was working in a private company. And she quit that job to help these kids annd wasbeing there for the last one year. She loves these kids a lot..
Gomathy and Sharmi had talked with me more time. first one used to sit on my thigh and the next one used to hold my neck from my back. We played a lot in their room. Pravin mentally disturbed child..While talking with him he told me that, he dont like his name and he wants it to be changed as pravin. So we changed his name to pravin ( though his name is already pravin). Then after some time pravin went to his teacher and asked her to give him some job as he dont want to sit idle. His teacher gave some books to read pravin got those books and told to his teacher as he is not happy. When the teacher asked for the reason pravin dont have one.
Prabakaran was studying in 9 th standard. He too have some mind problems. When his teacher asked to do some work he simply stands up in his place and stand there for long time. When she asked prabakaran will say "Sorry Miss". Priyasaki added as Something had affected the mind of prabakaran.
All my problems and worries seems to be nothing after seeing these childrens.
Teacher Priyasagi looks so lean While we are discussing she added as in some homes they used to beat the kids if they are not obeying the teacher. But Priyasaki will not have food if the kids are not obeying her words. When she is not having her food then child themselves cook some food and arrange it neatly in a plate and request her to have the food . And they will also take promise as they will not fight or shout here after.
While teacher was ill then that time these kids will maintain pindrop silence by saying them selves as our teacher is not feeling well, so we should not make noise and need to give her complete rest.
Time went faster than usuall and the evening came. So we have to start from there by carrying the smile filled faces of these cute lovable roses. Every one told tata and asked us when will be back to see them and to play with them. Waiting for the day to meet those childs again..
Since these kids are in their schooling age the founder can able to accomodate and provide shelter to them..
When they grow up, what will be their future.. How they are going to meet this world and their Dreams!!!!!!
